Train to where?
It was a lovely autumn day in the town of Hamachi, where animals can speak, run around, and trade amongst themselves.
However, this town had no mayor, and the villagers of the town were eagerly awaiting their new mayor to arrive on the train. On that exact train was a young boy named Drake. Drake was moving to this town, on his own, to turn over a new leaf.
Chugga chugga, chugga chugga. The train was bouncing along the tracks. Drake was on the verge of falling asleep, as he had a short attention span, and had not brought anything to entertain himself with. But just before he dozed off, he saw something. Was... was that a cat? Of course it was, Drake thought to himself. He was on the train before I was.
Drake almost dismissed this strange cat, but then it got up, and began to walk towards Drake. He stopped in the middle of the aisle. "Oh! Excuse me, I have a quick question for you!" The strange cat asked. "It's now 2:34 p.m on November 11, 2015, right?" The strange cat looked guinenly confused, so Drake thought he'd answer this cat's question. "U-um... yeah, I think so." The cat perked up at Drake's response. "I was right! Oh good! This watch of mine, it gets thrown off really easily sometimes!" Drake stared at the cat. "But you're not wearing a watch..." The cat stared at Drake. "That's besides the point, my name's Rover! ...I'm just gonna plop down in the seat acrss from you. If you don't mind, of course!"
"N-no! That's okay! You can sit there, I don't mind!" Drake was a shy person, and was considered a pushover, so the fact that he allowed this 'Rover' person to sit across from him was no suprise. What an odd cat, thought Drake, but he seems nice enough. "By the way, you... Wait! Can I ask your name?" Rover asked, with a glint of curiosity in his eyes. "Me? Oh, m-my name is Drake." "Oh, Drake...? Well, that's a fantastically great name! You seem like a pretty cool guy to me!"
"Thanks..." Drake replied sheepishly. "So, Drake... Tell me, where are you headed today?" "Um.. I'm heading to Hamachi, I've heard great things about that town." Drake had always dreamed about living in Hamachi, even as a toddler. The idea of a village full of animals really appealed to him. "Oh, Hamachi! I know that place! I have an acquaintance in that town! So, why are you headed to Hamachi anyway?" "I-um, I'd rather not tell." Drake didn't quite trust Rover just yet. Rover tilted his head sideways, a clear sign of confusion. "Ooh! Let me guess! Are you... Moving?" Drake was shocked at the cat's perceptiveness. "Y-yeah, how'd you know?" Rover grinned. "Yay! I guessed right!" Just then, a voice came over the loudspeaker. "Eek eek! Now arriving in Hamachi station! Hamachi station!" Drake began to stand. "It was nice meeting you Rover!" Rover nodded. "I enjoyed meeting you too! Have fun in Hamachi!" And so, Drake took a deep breath, and stepped off the train, into his new life.
